INTRODUCING THE
PIXEL CUBE
The Remote-DIT station for any production.
The Pixel Cube is a revolutionary Remote DIT station that brings professional-grade data management to productions of any size. Rugged and high-performance, it integrates seamlessly into your workflow, enabling camera-to-cloud transfer and near real-time editorial delivery.
Apple and M2 are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries.
Powered by the ultra-fast Apple M2® chip, the Pixel Cube delivers high-performance data handling in a compact, rugged design. Equipped with high-speed internal storage and V-Mount battery support, it runs fully automated with zero interaction needed on set.
Just insert your camera card – the Pixel Cube does the rest.
Once a card is inserted, the Pixel Cube's slot indicator turns orange to signal the offload in progress. When the transfer is complete, it turns green – confirming the card is ready to go back into the camera.
Backups are created automatically, and proxy files are sent to the cloud via the Pixel Cube’s integrated dual-5G router – ensuring your footage is safe, synced, and ready for post.

Does the Pixel Cube work without a stable internet connection? The Pixel Cube ensures reliable connectivity with its dedicated internet access. All critical processes – including card offloads, proxy generation, and checksum verification – run fully automated and entirely offline. An internet connection is only required for uploading proxies and reports, and for enabling remote DIT monitoring. Compatible with Starlink satellite internet, the Pixel Cube stays connected even in the most remote locations – so your workflow never has to wait.
-
Is it necessary to book the Remote-DIT service?Yes. The Remote DIT oversees all processes in real time, ensuring technical integrity, on-the-fly troubleshooting, and a seamless workflow from set to post. Depending on your project’s complexity and shooting schedule, we recommend aligning the Remote DIT’s availability with your production needs – ensuring maximum efficiency and tailored support throughout the day.
-
What does the Remote-DIT do?With the Pixel Cube, the Data Wrangler evolves into a Remote DIT – supervising all data workflows in real time. Available 24/7, the Remote DIT bridges set and post, ensuring continuity and technical consistency across departments. Simply add them to your call sheet.
-
How secure is my data? The Pixel Cube automatically creates three backups: two on the internal SSD RAID and one on a shuttle drive. All copies are verified against the original camera media using checksums to ensure data integrity. After wrap, a fourth backup can easily be created by connecting an external drive. And with a fast wired internet connection at the production office, even full-resolution camera originals can be uploaded to the cloud overnight – fully automated.
-
How do I know my camera card has been successfully backed up?The Pixel Cube’s integrated display uses a clear color system to indicate backup status: orange signals an ongoing process, green confirms a successful backup and safe card removal. If a card is removed too early, the slot flashes red. Once reinserted, the offload resumes automatically – no data lost, no steps missed. To add an extra layer of security, all backups are finalized using o/Parashoot’s signature "fake formatting" method: the first bytes of the copied data are flipped (0s become 1s and vice versa), making the card appear unreadable to the camera. This prompts the camera to request formatting – a visual confirmation that the card has already been backed up. If this prompt doesn’t appear, it signals a failed backup. In that case, the Remote DIT should be contacted immediately and the card must not be reused. This clever failsafe works with all major camera systems – and even after fake formatting, the Pixel Cube can still fully restore your data. Learn more about o/Parashoot at Ottomatic.

Why do you call it "Remote-DIT"?While the role of an on-set DIT is irreplaceable, many productions – especially smaller ones – have never had access to one. That’s where the Remote DIT comes in. With the Pixel Cube, critical tasks like data verification, workflow consultancy, look previews, and post-production coordination can be handled remotely by a qualified DIT. We deliberately chose the term Remote DIT – not Remote Loader or Remote Wrangler – because this is still a professional taking responsibility for your data. We know that an on-set DIT provides far more: live grading, monitor calibration, exposure control, and real-time decision-making. The Remote DIT is not here to replace that – but to support teams where no DIT was ever part of the equation. Too often, backups fall to 2nd ACs, camera operators, or even producers, late at night and under pressure. The Remote DIT is here to change that – bringing confidence, clarity, and expert oversight to your set, even from afar. Have a better name for this evolving role? We’re all ears.
